Trade publishers often use freelancers and small studios in the background, especially when a feature lands late or a directory issue suddenly needs more hands. That is normal. Examples here are redrawn and anonymised where required, with client names, commercially sensitive figures and live issue furniture removed.

Seasonal closure

The August Fortnight.

Mara closes for the last two weeks of August after the machinery-directory artwork is delivered. It is not a grand studio ritual. It is simply the only fortnight the inbox reliably goes quiet, so advance September charts should be booked before the final August proof cycle.
